What Women Must Learn in Business
We all know that men and women work and behave differently when it comes to their businesses. Therefore, we should have two sets of advices when our goal is to help them excel in their crafts. For now, I’ll share words of wisdoms for businesswomen around the globe.
You see, women have a lot to consider. Aside from their businesses, they are more concerned when it comes to family matters. They are also the ones who are more sensitive when it comes to marital problems. Compared to men, women are less of a risk taker and more of a perfectionist; thus, they spend more time planning than taking action.
As we all know, equal rights between men and women have only seen significant changes during the last couple of centuries. Before that, it has always been believed that men should provide for the family. That men are in-charge of earning. Although much has changed in the society, there is still this negative belief, even unspoken, that women are not good at making money. Yes, they are good at budgeting and scrunching to meet the daily expenses, but creating money is a different issue. This backward belief, or shall we say “fear”, is what women should break free from. Instead, women should begin seeing the possibilities and success that they could attain once they consider themselves as money creators.
Relevant to this, women should start taking risk. A business will forever be evolving, to keep up with the times and meet different demands of the market. Therefore, there is no use mulling over how you are going to go about with everything at the start. Remember, once you get going, you will eventually find ways to meet whatever obstacle comes along, because there surely will be obstacles no matter how well-planned you start your business. Time is gold and you could be losing some really good opportunities or sales while you sit and “plan”.
Lastly, women should learn to commit to whatever venture they have started. We know that so much is expected of women, especially mothers, in the family. Single women entrepreneurs who suddenly see themselves married with a child may become overwhelmed with the added responsibilities and think of giving up their careers. Don’t you think it’s a waste? Believe me, it is. Good thing that time can actually be your friend, that is, if you manage it wisely. With proper balancing of personal and professional obligations, who says that women cannot excel in the world of business?
